Without the ambition to expose all approaches and contradictions between the Discourse on the origin and foundations of inequality among men, by Jean Jacques Rousseau, and the Book of Biblical Genesis, this text aims to make a comparative study between these two works, aiming to propose a reflection on the garden of Eden myth, as it is exposed in the Bible, in counterpoint with Jean-Jacques enlightenment book, emphasizing the identification elements, the proposition of autonomous subject without valid to the principle of authority beyond the limits of rationality. If Rousseau was assiduous reader of the Bible, this does not mean the exigency for a discussion on the dogmatic and transcendental reasoning when discussing the attempt to define the origins of the human being. The proposal awoken theses and arguments around the similarities and differences between the state of nature and the biblical origins. Thus, intend to respond if Rousseau effectively proposes a rational point of view / naturalist Christian feelings, serving up the theme to establish their hard critique to the religion and its practices.
