Abstract

This article intends to present, within the limited space, the history of the female and feminine punk rock / hardcore band Endometriose, which existed between the years of 2006 and 2011 in the city of Feira de Santana, Bahia. Later, we will elaborate an exercise of historiographical reflection through one of its feminist songs: They Can. In this way, we aim to present a contextualization about the Feirense band and analyze the song. They can by looking at their lyrics and melody considering the problems raised by the composer, Ilani Silva, the idealizer and double bass player of Endometriosis. It is important to point out that we aim to explore the possibilities of music as a historical source through a debate that is crossed by the discussion of gender.
