This text is the result of an ongoing research whose objective is to investigate the trajectories of workers at the Cinco Rios Plant in the small district of Maracangalha, Bahia. The region of the Bahian recôncavo, historically recognized for the development of the sugar plantation and the slave labor, wrote with the emergence of the sugar mills a new chapter in the history of labor relations that involved the post abolition and the first republic in Bahia. Considered one of the most important mills in the region, its operation began in 1912 and closed in 1987. This article will discuss the physical structure of the plant, rural properties, as well as the work dynamics and profiles of these workers. For this, we will support the analysis of written, memorialistic and oral sources
