About
The UFRB Scientific Journals Portal is the institutional platform dedicated to hosting, publishing, preserving, and disseminating scientific journals affiliated with the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB).
The Portal utilizes the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). Its objective is to organize, preserve, and increase the visibility of scientific output published by institutional journals, making it accessible to the academic community and integrated into national and international scientific communication databases and indexers.
Current OJS version: 3.5.0.5 (installed on October 9, 2026).
The Portal is managed by the Scientific Journals Management Support Unit (NAGESP), a division of the UFRB Press (EDUFRB) responsible for providing technical and editorial support to the hosted scientific journals.
Content published by the journals hosted on this Portal is made available via open access and is licensed under Creative Commons, unless otherwise indicated. The content of the articles, as well as their respective metadata, is the responsibility of each journal's editorial team.
The UFRB Scientific Journals Portal seeks to strengthen the institutional infrastructure for scientific communication, contributing to the visibility, identification, retrieval, preservation, and dissemination of scientific output published by the hosted journals.
In this context, since 2026, the Portal has provided an institutional service for assigning DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) to articles published by accredited journals.
Journal accreditation on the Portal is contingent upon meeting the editorial, technical, and scientific quality criteria established by current institutional regulations. The accreditation, monitoring, and evaluation processes are supported by the Scientific Journals Steering Committee.
