From heterotopia to techno-heterotopia: towards a state of common immunity

The article explores Foucault's concept of heterotopia in the contemporary digital and environmental context, in dialogue with Peter Sloterdijk. It proposes techno-heterotopia as an archipelago of interconnected communities, based on a global ethic of moderation and an environmental right to resistance. In this scenario, inspired by the Sloterdijk topological reading, the hypothesis of the State of Common Immunity emerges, an alternative to the nation-state, promoting decentralized and co-communal governance to face the challenges of the Anthropocene. Digitalization and interconnectivity are presented as ways of reorganizing political and social space, overcoming territorial borders. The proposal includes a network governance model, where communities cooperate for environmental and social protection. The article suggests that the resonance between different forms of life can guide a new political ethic, based on collaboration and care for the planet. Thus, a reformulation of sovereignty towards a more sustainable and decentralized model such as cloud governance is advocated.
