The article is a study of the technical-economic feasibility of a pilot project for photovoltaic energy microgeneration, for the generation of clean, non-polluting and renewable electricity, to be installed on the Campus of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), Campus da city of Cruz das Almas in the state of Bahia. With the purpose of setting up a research laboratory for renewable energy generation for engineering students, professors and the entire local community in the city, and also to reduce the high costs of electricity at UFRB. From the results obtained, it was verified that the implementation of a photovoltaic microgeneration system proved to be economically viable (it had a payback time in less than five years and proved to be a viable project in a period of 25 years of useful life) and also technically, as it will enable the insertion of the academic community in new studies and researches on this topic of great worldwide relevance.
