In this work, we present a small study on the Malthus and Verhulst models, precursors of the study of population dynamics. We used the Least Squares Method, in order to obtain the adjustments by a regression line and by two curves: the exponential and the sigmoid, from the data provided by the IBGE for the population of the city of Cruz das Almas. In addition, given the lack of completion of the IBGE Census in 2020, a comparison was made between the estimate given by the IBGE with the adjustments obtained.
